1 - Why do you wish to run for this position? Please state the position in your answer.

I am running for Treasurer of the Chesterfield County Democratic Committee because I want to apply my professional background in revenue cycle processes and financial reporting to help strengthen the financial foundation of our local Democratic efforts. I understand the importance of accuracy, transparency, and compliance when it comes to managing funds—and I’m passionate about using those skills to support Democratic values and candidates here in our community. With hands-on experience in financial systems, budgeting, and process improvement, I am well-prepared to maintain clear financial records, ensure timely reporting, and support the committee’s strategic goals with solid fiscal management. I believe that strong financial oversight is essential to sustaining long-term growth and trust within the organization. If elected, I will work to make our financial practices more efficient, transparent, and aligned with the needs of our members and mission.

2 - What are your priorities for CCDC and how would you implement them?

As Treasurer of the Chesterfield County Democratic Committee, my top priorities would be: Financial Transparency and Trust I believe members should always know where our money comes from and how it's being used. I would implement consistent, easy-to-understand financial reports presented at each meeting, along with periodic summaries shared with members. These reports would highlight revenue, expenses, and available funds in a clear format. Efficient and Compliant Financial Processes Leveraging my experience in revenue cycle processes and financial reporting, I would review and streamline our current financial procedures—ensuring all transactions and filings are compliant with local and state regulations. I’d also establish clear documentation and audit trails to protect the committee and its leadership. Sustainable Fundraising Strategy A financially strong committee is a more effective one. I would work with the executive team to develop a fundraising plan that includes grassroots donations, recurring monthly supporters, and potential partnerships with allied organizations. Every fundraising campaign would include defined goals, budgets, and follow-up reporting. Capacity Building Through Budgeting I would help create and manage a budget that aligns with our strategic goals—whether that’s candidate support, voter outreach, or event planning. By aligning spending with our priorities, we ensure that our values are reflected in how we allocate resources. Member Engagement in Financial Planning I want to demystify the financial side of committee work. I would be open to questions, provide accessible summaries, and even host brief financial Q&A sessions when needed—so members feel more connected and confident in our committee’s operations.

3 - Describe how you will enlist the help of the new members and at the same time ensure the continued participation from longtime members.

Treasurer, I will use my background in revenue cycle processes and financial reporting to promote transparency, accuracy, and accountability in our committee’s finances. To engage new members, I will provide regular updates that clearly explain our financial position and how their involvement supports our broader goals. I’ll also create opportunities for them to offer input on budgeting priorities and fundraising strategies. For longtime members, I’ll continue to value their experience by maintaining open lines of communication and incorporating their feedback into financial planning. My goal is to build trust and strengthen participation through clear reporting, fiscal responsibility, and shared commitment to our Democratic values.

4 - How would you make CCDC a more diverse organization?

I believe making CCDC a more diverse organization starts with intentional outreach and consistent relationship-building. I would support efforts to connect with communities that have been historically underrepresented by attending local events, collaborating with grassroots organizations, and ensuring our messaging reflects the full diversity of Chesterfield County. As Treasurer, I would help ensure that our resources are allocated in a way that supports inclusive engagement—such as promoting events in multiple communities, ensuring financial transparency, and removing unnecessary barriers to involvement. Diversity is essential to our strength as Democrats, and I’m committed to helping CCDC reflect the community we serve.

5 - Describe the positions or involvement you have had with CCDC and/or other Democratic Committees, and how long have you been involved.

I’ve been actively involved with CCDC for several years through various volunteer roles that support our candidates and community outreach. My involvement includes campaigning, canvassing, phone banking, and serving as a precinct captain. These experiences have given me a strong understanding of grassroots organizing, voter engagement, and the importance of local leadership in building Democratic momentum. Each role has deepened my commitment to the values and mission of the Democratic Party here in Chesterfield County.

I bring a strong background in finance, leadership, and public service that aligns well with the responsibilities of Treasurer. I began my career in hospitality, transitioned into banking, and later moved into healthcare finance, where I’ve worked extensively in the revenue cycle system. I hold a bachelor’s degree in information technology and currently serve as a Deputy Director in the finance division of the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services. Throughout my career, I’ve led projects, managed teams, and built systems that emphasize accuracy, transparency, and accountability. Additionally, I serve as an Officer of Elections and precinct Chief for Midlothian Precinct 518. These experiences have sharpened my leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills—qualities I would bring to the CCDC Treasurer role to help support our mission effectively and responsibly.
